The Mississippi Valley and Rideau Valley Conservation Authorities administer sewage systems approvals (Part 8 of the Ontario Building Code) for new or replacement systems, system renovations or septic decommissioning on behalf of several municipalities.
In these areas, the conservation authority is responsible for reviewing septic designs and plans, issuing building permits and inspecting completed work to ensure compliance with provincial regulations.
