Got land? Plant trees!
We are looking to transform your marginal, empty or idle fields into thriving, green woodlands. We offer significant subsidies to rural landowners for planning, planting and maintenance of all their reforestation needs.
Our full-service program includes:
• Customized tree planting plans that suit your needs
• On-site technical advice from qualified forestry staff
• Tree planting and tending services
• Ordering and handling of trees
• Site preparation
• Survival assessments

To qualify outside of Ottawa, landowners must:
• Have a minimum 0.5 Ha (1.25 acre) of suitable land
• Order a minimum of 1,000 trees
• Agree to reasonably protect the trees from damage
To qualify inside of Ottawa, landowners must:
• Have a minimum 0.25 Ha (0.62 acres) of suitable land
• Order a minimum of 500 trees
• Agree to reasonably protect the trees from damage

Since our formation in 1966, the RVCA has been partnering with our local municipalities, residents, businesses, schools, service clubs, environmental and lake associations, community groups and provincial and federal governments to deliver programs and services that protect and manage the natural resources we all value and count on in the Rideau watershed.

Watershed Reporting
RVCA’S Watershed Science and Engineering team collects, monitors and analyses watershed information.
Environmental Planning
We offer technical advice regarding environmental issues for legal and development inquiries.
Tree Planting Programs

On behalf of Fisheries and Oceans Canada, we review proposed works in or near lakes, wetlands and watercourses providing advice on their impacts to fish habitat.
